About me and my leather work

My journey into the world of craftsmanship began in my teenage years when I joined a reenactment group focused on the early medieval period, sparking my passion for working with materials such as leather, wool, wood, and metal. Initially, I studied to become an artistic blacksmith, but eventually, I transitioned to leatherwork, relying on my diverse experience with various materials to master new techniques and skills.

Through my art history studies at university, I discovered fascinating connections between the techniques and materials I use and their historical contexts. This blend of practical experience and academic study provides me with a unique perspective on the craftsmanship of historical artifacts.

My journey reflects a deep commitment to mastering various crafts, driven by a love for history and materials. It is a path of continuous learning, where each skill builds on the previous one, leading to my passion for leatherwork and art history.

I’m dedicated to bringing to life ideas that lived in my head for years through sewing. Designing is still relatively new to me, but it’s incredibly fulfilling, and I hope to do it professionally one day. I’ve also started creating websites using WordPress. One of my first test website is this one, so it’s far from perfect, but I aimed to capture the essence and spirit of Nathan’s work.
